visualdisplayunit.org is the home of Nottingham based digital artist, musician and technician Noel Murphy.

Working in both visual and sonic arts, projects revolve around an interest in science/art cross overs.
Recent projects include interactive installations in Paris, Birmingham, Sheffield ,and Nottingham.
Working as a producer for art events Noel was the Co Director for Frameworks Raise The Roof festival held at Nottingham Contemporary, and is a producer for the World Event Young Artists EU funded Park In Progress residency.

Musically Noel is one half of acclaimed electronica duo Wauvenfold (Wichita Records/EMI), has released solo work under the name Bury&Disinter(UK and Japan) and more recently a mini album under the VDU moniker.
Noel has performed live in some of the UK’s most stunning venues, including The Baltic (BBC radio 3), the V&A museum (Rough Trade), and Eastnor Castle (Big Chill festival), and even did a Peel session with wauvenfold.

6+ years as projectionist and A/V technician for one to the UK’s leading independent cinemas, working with 35m film and all forms of digital projection systems and servers.
